Google Docs

I asked you (for Wednesday's homework) to answer two questions related to the Grant-Davie article for Wednesday and post those responses on Google Docs in your individual folder. I want to make sure you can navigate and use Google Docs, and writing it up will help you with our blog discussion of the article as well. So, if you have any difficulties posting to Google Docs, respond here and ask for help. One of us will hopefully be able to solve any problems. (And remember not to email me through google as I rarely check that email:)).

  1. Jonikka,

Are assignments considered late if they are not posted by the time you indicate? My concern with this is because I work 8-5 and my other online classes allowed me to post/submit assignments until midnight.

    Thanks,
    Aholivama

  2. I'll try to work around that. The only time it'll really matter is when we start giving each other feedback on our major projects. But I'm sure I can give later deadlines for that than I've been giving. I've been trying to experiment about that, so we can address that.

  3. I'm sorry that I'm just asking this, but how do I create a folder with my name under the Google Docs? earlier this morning I tried creating a document but I would get the "The server is unavailable. Trying to reconnect...." message and it wouldn't get out of that page. Please help!
    Thanks,
    Sandra

  5. Dr. Charlton,
I had the same question that Aholivama had. I had a mid-shift yesterday and I was looking for your post early in the morning but it wasn't there until later when I was already at work. I came in today at 5am and i get out at 2, so i would really like it if it's ok if we post a bit later...thanks!

  6. I've decided to make due dates at the end of the day. You all have such different schedules that it's hard to make sure things are posted when people would prefer they be posted:). We'll all adjust, though.

And, Sandra, your individual folder is only viewable by me; that's in case I put up docs with grades in them.

  7. Dr. Charlton, I am having trouble uploading my file to google docs. It still says there are no collections under my student file after uploading it.

  8. Your folder is there, Laura. Do you see it when you click on the "Students" folder?

  9. I'm sorry, can anyone tell me what the two questions were again? I know it was number 2 and what was the other number?

  11. Dr. J,

I uploaded my document to the folder with my name on it but I think it said it was view-able by everyone so i deleted it. Was that the right way or no?
